Our Activities

🚶 Neighborhood Walks

Our core project: Regular, short rounds through the quarter – calm, unobtrusive and attentive. The walks take place particularly during late evening and nighttime hours.

Ground rules:

No confrontation, no escalation
In case of danger: call police (110)
Flexible times (not predictable)
Duration: approx. 15–20 minutes per round

Organization: Coordination is done via a shared Teamup calendar. Participants sign up for time slots independently.

🔒 Professional Security Service

In addition to the voluntary walks, we are evaluating professional security services for regular nightly patrols. The goal is a mobile patrol service that checks the quarter several times per night.

Status: Quotes are being obtained (as of July 2026)

🧹 Cleanliness Actions

Planned joint actions to maintain our quarter:

Clean-up days in and around Sonninpark
Communication with property management regarding cleaning of shared areas
Reporting of pollution and damage

🤝 Neighborhood Meetings

Regular meetups for getting to know each other and exchanging ideas – for a quarter where people know and look out for each other.

🐀 Pest Prevention and Reporting

Joint attention to pest issues in the quarter:

Reporting rat sightings to the district office and property management
Monitoring and documenting pest infestations (rats, oak processionary moths, pigeons, etc.)
Coordinating with professional pest control services when needed
Informing neighbors about current infestations and preventive measures

📋 Communication with Authorities

Exchange with Police Station 41 (Sievekingdamm 20)
Contact with the Hamburg-Mitte district administration
Communication with property management (Wentzel Dr.)
