Our Activities

🚶 Neighborhood Walks

Our core project: Regular, short rounds through the quarter – calm, unobtrusive and attentive. The walks take place particularly during late evening and nighttime hours.

Ground rules:

  • No confrontation, no escalation
  • In case of danger: call police (110)
  • Flexible times (not predictable)
  • Duration: approx. 15–20 minutes per round

Organization: Coordination is done via a shared Teamup calendar. Participants sign up for time slots independently.

🔒 Professional Security Service

In addition to the voluntary walks, we are evaluating professional security services for regular nightly patrols. The goal is a mobile patrol service that checks the quarter several times per night.

Status: Quotes are being obtained (as of July 2026)

🧹 Cleanliness Actions

Planned joint actions to maintain our quarter:

  • Clean-up days in and around Sonninpark
  • Communication with property management regarding cleaning of shared areas
  • Reporting of pollution and damage

🤝 Neighborhood Meetings

Regular meetups for getting to know each other and exchanging ideas – for a quarter where people know and look out for each other.

🐀 Pest Prevention and Reporting

Joint attention to pest issues in the quarter:

  • Reporting rat sightings to the district office and property management
  • Monitoring and documenting pest infestations (rats, oak processionary moths, pigeons, etc.)
  • Coordinating with professional pest control services when needed
  • Informing neighbors about current infestations and preventive measures

📋 Communication with Authorities

  • Exchange with Police Station 41 (Sievekingdamm 20)
  • Contact with the Hamburg-Mitte district administration
  • Communication with property management (Wentzel Dr.)
